Custom video decoder

by Jepsh » Thu Jan 05, 2012 6:36 am

Would it be possible somehow to choose custom decoding filter to use for video stream?

The reason for this is I'm using a H264 camera on fairly weak hardware and would like to use CoreAVC for decoding.
I'm also having alot of artifacts in the video stream in VDV giving false alarms. The custom decoder would also prevent this.

My machine is using CoreAVC decoder for the stream in MPC and it's looking great (no artifacts).

Else, great software! :)

Hi Jepsh,

It's not possible to use custom decoders at this time. You could achieve something like this by using a secondary app to decode and rebroadcast the stream, but that's obviously not a solution when the initial concern is computing power. Sorry about that.
