Sighthound 3.0

I see Sighthound 3.0 has been released. Could you please post new features and changelog from 2.4x/2.5x versions?

Hello JLondon,

We put up the link to 3.0 very recently and we are still working on pushing out a number of changes on our website including release notes. The new page should be up shortly and can be found by going to Help > Release Notes.

I can say that two major new features would be Sighthound running as a service and SSL for remote access. The new iOS and Android builds are required for SSL. We've pushed the new updates out and they should become available within 24 hours, depending on the app stores.

Is the license for 2.5x valid for 3.0?

I installed 3.0, and it all broke. The background process for running the video kept crashing. :( Trying an full uninstall and reinstall now.

That's disappointing. PC or Mac install? Guess I'll hold off for now.

Anybody have 3.0 working properly yet?

Mac El Capitan.

It breaks from a fresh install too. When i tries to activate camera the other process crashes.

@Betelgeuse, as long as your support and upgrades subscription is active 3.0 will indeed work with your current license. If it is has expired you would need to renew it. You can check this from inside the app at "Help->Show License Information..." or on the web at https://www.sighthound.com/account/#/sighthound-video

@ericcirone, if you haven't yet please submit a bug report from within the application, we aren't aware of the issue you have described.

@tcesario, 3.0 has been in use internally throughout its development and has also been used externally by a large group of beta testers for the past month. We would not have released today if we didn't believe it was ready, however with countless unique combinations of computer hardware, operating systems, installed software, and cameras it is inevitable that some users will encounter new issues. If you'd like to wait a few weeks for a bug fix release or two to make their way out and potentially dodge some of these that's of course fine to do, and you're also welcome to give it a go and revert to 2.5.1 if you encounter any issues.

I'm having the same problem after upgrading my Mac to OSX 10.11.2. I was previously running the 3.0 Beta without a problem. After the OS X upgrade, none of the cameras would connect. I upgraded to the released 3.0 version and it's even worse. With the released version I continuously get Sighthound Video quit unexpectedly windows popping up over and over again. Sighthound has become completely unusable.

UPDATE: Downgraded to 2.5.1 and it is working again. Looks like 3.0 + OS X 10.11.2 does not work.

Same! OS X version does not connect to my RTSP camera where 2.51 was perfect.
