iOS Clips

by barto » Fri Aug 21, 2015 7:11 am

When i use the iPhone app, all the clips show the preview perfectly.

But when I click on a clip to play, it goes to "Loading" for a while (with the spinning wheel) and then instead of the video playing, I get a white circle with a picture of a crossed out play button in.

Any ideas please? This used to work.

Hi barto,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Does this happen with all clips? We'd be happy to investigate your logs if you could send us a bug report from the Sighthound Video desktop application by going to Help > Report a Problem.

Regards,

-Devin

I'm having the exact same problems with the latest iOS app v1.1. This needs to be resolved, I can't see alerts or clips via my iPhone since upgrading to v1.1. Thanks

I'm also having problems on iOS iPhone 6 and iPad Air same same issue loading clips. Both on 3G and wifi. Same issue on my system and the new system I have installed for a family member both running on Macs.

On a plus point, when it does load it's much smoother to fast forward through, also thumbs up for the new iPad app.

Be great if this issue can be resolved.

Thanks

Tony.

Hello all,

We apologies for any inconvenience and we are currently working to resolve this issue. Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce this behavior ourselves so it would be greatly helpful if you could submit a bug report from the computer running Sighthound Video the next time your iOS device fails to play clips. You can submit the bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem. Be sure to link to this forum post and your username so we know it is you.

In the meantime, are you all able to play clips from the web browser on your iOS device?

Regards,

-Devin

Hi,

Okay so I currently have two macs in separate locations running up to date software.

Using my iPhone 6 (running up to date app) I find it is hit and miss if I can get a clip to play, more often than not, it fails.

Using the web browser on the phone it plays all the clips fine, however upon selecting a clip it prompts for authentication so I have to enter user and password each time I hit a clip.

This is the same on both systems running sighthound and replicates on my iPhone and iPad, and another iPad that I managed to use.

I will try and send report

Thanks

Tony

Hi, are you close to resolving this issue? It is really frustrating that I can not review my clips. Did my bug report assist? I have also installed a system for a family member after I recommended Sighthound to him, slightly embarrassing that his does not work properly either! Thanks.

Thank you to everyone who helped us with this issue. The discussions here in the forums and the bug reports were all quite helpful in resolving this issue.

We now have a new release of the IOS app in the works, and it addresses a couple of issues, including some crashes and the playback of video clips.

It is not yet available for download, but we will make another post here as soon as it is.

Thanks,
+ Dev Michael

Hi, I have installed the latest update (14/09) pls can you let me know if this was supposed to fix the playback issue, it is a little more stable, however I still have issues with playback as before. Thanks Tony.
