Re: Annoying web interface bug

Hi camera_kat, As the video files are being created they are stored on your computers main drive and then moved to their ultimate destination when they are complete. There intentionally isn't a way to move where Sighthound writes these temporary video files as if there was any sort of HD failure (r...

Re: object recognition at night

The Vivotek has really fantastic night vision with no IR LED illumination. I don't understand why Sighthound doesn't work in that scenario.

Re: Annoying web interface bug

Devin, the F: drive is a RAM disk for temporary storage, because Sighthound constantly writes to disk. The D: drive is an SSD.

So in effect, there is no way to separate clips in Sighthounds archival management system from temporary video that is always being written?

object recognition at night

Sighthound recognizes absolute nothing in night mode with a Vivotek IB8369 running at 1080p. Are two megapixels not enough for pattern recognition at night?

Re: Annoying web interface bug

Devin, I have no idea what you mean. This is what I am trying to say. This is the rule where it instructs sighthound to save the clip to a local folder: http://i.imgur.com/ndgbLXY.jpg These are the options for storage: http://i.imgur.com/mpsASG1.jpg Why are the saved clips not viewable on the web i...

Devin wrote:for the selected rule.

As I said before, this is only nested within the rule, it has absolutely no effect on the full time capture of video to disk. Sighthound should record on motion, then apply the rule as opposed to just recording all streams, all the time.

Re: Constant SSD writes SOLVED!!!

A good solution, but I have some concerns and then a couple of questions... One concern is that a power failure would result in a total loss of all data. No, only the temp data goes poof if the power goes poof. All the video that follows a rule gets saved where you want it. Another concern is the a...

Annoying web interface bug

When I have the "save clips" option set under a rule to a different drive, those videos show up on the web interface until the "temporarily keep all video up to" time expires, and then those videos no longer show on the web interface, but are still in the folder that the rule dir...

Constant SSD writes SOLVED!!!

The solution to preventing Sighthound from writing 24/7 to your SSD is having it write 24/7 to a RAMdisk instead. I installed this RAMdisk for windows which sighthound is more than happy to write to. Adjust the settings so temp files wont fill up your RAMdisk, and you are golden. No more constant wr...
