Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Well, I have done everything suggested and a few more. The disk activity builds up and becomes continuous as long as the program is running and all comments I have made before! I do believe that hibernation is working and the message against the Task to wake up which reported 'never run' or 'not sta...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Thank you Doug for your continued patience with this. I will do the test of one day as you suggest. In fact this system is monitoring something for a legal issue and whist most video is not required to be kept (once viewed and eliminated) any that is required I save as separate clips. Normally the v...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Thanks both for input. I really do appreciate the suggestions but I have done them. I am no longer certain that the activity prevents hibernation. I just can't prove that it goes off when I am not there. Well as an afterthought I can by telling it to hibernate but not turn back on. I will try that t...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

The system is doing nothing else and is Semperon 2800 (2GHz); Memory 1.5GB; disk space 40GB. Further experiments show the following... I set the video to be kept for 25 days. Through the program I deleted all clips and indexes before 8 days ago. I started the program set to log people in an area and...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Thank you for your input Semper Vaporo. I always have Date Modified showing. Any file changes always show the new date/time. I don't know what it gave before yesterday but I set the computer to hibernate at 3.30pm and awake at 3.40pm. I watched and it worked. At the end the date time oddly showed th...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Thanks again Doug. I must apologise. Due to the time between posts I have not been re-reading the posts and had forgotten about your comments on cleaning and got carried away with my reasoning. I am sure that you are correct. I didn't quite follow about keep the schedule the same. It has been on the...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

It has become obvious that the processing of the incoming video, builds up over a relatively short time and gets behind real life, massively. I can see no way around this from a user perspective. The program analyses constantly for any movement regardless of the Rules set, the Rule simply being a fi...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

An update and a question. I found that my extra time did not solve the problem. The disk still has activity when the camera is off. One Agent is showing intermittent 02 in the processes the other five are 00 and the Video entry shows 02. The camera had been off all night but the computer on. The cam...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Thank you for your help Doug. I understand what you say and will investigate leaving, say, an hour between camera off and hibernate, then progressively increase that until it gets too close to the wakeup time to be worth while hibernating in the first place. It will still save some power even if it ...

Re: Pause camera activity to hibernate?

Thank you for that vital information Doug. Yes I was able to turn the camera off/on. It did not solve my problem. I shut the camera off then 10 minutes later the Task scheduler should have switch power profiles such that the system then hibernated after 1 minute. It did not ( will return to that...)...
