Re: No updates, no support

Wow, just received email from Jonathan Taylor. EDITED POST: Looks like I cannot do strike-through, so I deleted my previous comments... Looks like Sighthound Video 6 will be using Sighthound.IO for recognition, meaning Cloud (or am I wrong?) --- I was wrong --- The new Sighthound Video 6 will be usi...

Re: Back from 2012 / Start SV at System Startup? / Cats,Dogs

Good day. Well, I've had the new SV for weeks now, and can report back on detection. It very rarely detects cats as people now, this is much better than it used to be back in the VD days. However, it is horrible at detecting people, so much so that I have edited my rules to detect "any object&q...

Code Integrity determined that the page hashes...

Good day.

I am getting this in the event log:

Code Integrity determined that the page hashes of an image file are not valid.
Windows\System32\mfAACEnc.dll
Windows\System32\l3codeca.acm

I think this started when I installed SightHound; are you installing these codecs?

Thank you.

Re: Back from 2012 / Start SV at System Startup? / Cats,Dogs

Hey Ryan. Yeah, I noticed the service needs no resources at all; I was just trying to see how it all worked - Having come from VitaminD, I was curious how Sighthound did the service thing (I had been using NSSM with VitaminD.) As for detection, I just finished reading your release history and I see ...

Re: Sound recording not working + how to deselect it

Hi Alex.

That is what I had concluded: It doesn't record sound on USB cameras. That's ok, I would've disabled it anyway; since I increased video resolution it's insane the amount of space it requires, I have no room for sound!

Thank you.

Re: Back from 2012 / Start SV at System Startup? / Cats,Dogs

Hi Kbond, Ryan. I was asking because I noticed that the Sighthound service starts regardless of the state of the Start At System Startup option. So I did a little testing, and if the option is not selected then video recording does not start upon reboot; the service reads that option and acts accord...

Sound recording not working + how to deselect it

Good day. After upgrading from VD to Sighthound, I was hoping I could try recording sound, but it's not working. I have a cheap Logitech Webcam C300 USB camera, but it does do sound. However, Sighthound does not seem to realize it. Is this normal? The sound stream from the camera appears as a sound ...

Back from 2012 / Start SV at System Startup? / Cats,Dogs...

Good day. Well after using VitaminD (for free) for 5 years, I finally moved the program to a more powerful computer with a bigger disk (went from 36GB to 320GB). But I increased camera resolution, so now I can store LESS video than before, lol. I could still run this for free, but I am buying a lice...

UI suggestions and other tidbits

Good day. So here's my suggestion list. Most are slight changes to UI components. Near the bottom are "Me Too" suggestions for bigger changes. First, as a user with a very specific taste for date and time formats, I would suggest these tweaks: ⋅ Display the date, in the review pa...

Re: Using --backEnd / run as a service

Good day. So I started looking at srvany.exe to wrap VD in a service, but this is an old tool and I am not sure it works under Win 7. Enter NSSM, the Non-Sucking Service Manager, an open-source Service Wrapper available in 32/64bits, which you can find at http://nssm.cc/ . Solution #2 - Using NSSM t...
