Hi,
I can only start with a "wow".
For a "version 1" ipad app, you surely implemented quite a nice frontend to VitaminD, more or less exactly what I had hoped from the VitaminD people for the last couple of years since I discovered their amazing software.
Having just activated my test period today I will have 14 days to decide if I want to go ahead with the purchase:
your asking price for the server component is a bit steep, especially if you then announce that there will also be monthly charges for the streaming part.
I cannot say much yet on the server component, in the sense that it "just works", but I would have some enhancement requests for the ipad app:
- when I am in the "clips" view page with the previews, give me an easy way to change the active filter.
For example, if I want to switch from "all objects" to "people", I currently have to go back to Cameras and then select a new view.
- related to the above point, dont ask me every time for my desired filter, remember the last used one and jump from the camera page directly to the "clips" page.
- I would love to have a selection page of all dates with activity.
Currently the display initially jumps to "today", and I can then swipe left-right for going back and forward one day at the time.
If I press the calendar icon, I get a "select date" prompt.
Instead of that "select date" (or even in addition to that option), I would like to have a view with all days where activity was present, and and easy way to jump to a day there directly and easily.
-last point is more a question than a request:
for the streaming part over the net when working away from the local network, why do you have the need to stream through your cloud and not directly from home-server to the ipad app?
Your cloud could just act as the middleman for the initial handshake, but I dont see the reason for actually receiving and mirroring my webcam stream.
A brilliant software, can't wait for your future developments, and possibly for a reduction on the server component price, what about an introductory offer?
