Adjust Live Display Area

by Sikth » Sat Jul 28, 2012 11:36 am

Hi,

I have recently purchased the Basic version of VTV and so far, I am very happy with it, just have the following issue :

I run it on a PC in my bedroom which uses a resolution of 1920x1080 - I leave this monitor on during the evenings so if I am alarmed by a noise I can see the cameras from my bed - I would like a feature which allows me to resize the video feed in order to not waste so much of the display area as well as perhaps being able to view both of my camera streams at the same size, rather than having to click on the second one to enlarge it a bit.

I have other software which allows this but prefer every other feature of your application, such an addition would in my opinion, make this the best home CCTV software I have seen.

I agree!

As a work around, you might try to use a magnifier program.

On a PC, using Windows, there is a utility called "Magnifier" that produces a movable and resizeable window that will display an enlarged version of a portion of the screen. I set it to magnify 200% and put if over the right half of the sceen, overtop of the small thumbnails of the cameras. I have 5 cams now and I can get almost all of them on screen at 200% at the same time, plus the full image of the selected camera in VDV on the left. If you are only running 2 cameras you might be able to go to 300% or 400%, depending on the width of your screen. On my present computer it does not seem to affect the utilization of the processor cores very much.

Be aware that when starting that program it can sometimes take a LONG time for it to show up. I assume it is rearranging memory to make room for its work space and that takes a long time... I just timed it and it was 59 seconds!

I assume that a MAC has a similar program available.
