It is not the physical size of the display that limits the view of windows, it is the "resolution" of the display.

I suspect that your display is set to 640x480 resolution if you cannot see the green ON light below the video space of VDV. You are also missing more below that and some more to the right! You can drag the title bar left and right to view the whole window from one side to the other, but you cannot drag the title bar above the top of the screen so you cannot see anything on the bottom of the program window.

The minimum display size for VDV seems to be 1000 x 744 pixels. The closest larger standard size would be 1024 x 768.

Most modern PCs can do that resolution. Right-click on the desktop (any "empty" place on the screen, not on an icon or program window) and a context menu will appear that should have at least one entry about the screen or display setup. Or run Control Panel and find the Display applet (depending on you version of Winders and how you have the Control Panel display configured you might find it under "Display" or under "Appearance and Personalization" or some other grouping of applets). Once in the Display Setup program there will be tabs or selections for Screen Resolution... I can't define exactly what you will see because each version of Winders and each version of the display Hardware driver has a better idea of how to present the options of how to change things.... Sorry.

The problem with higher resolutions is that everything gets smaller (especially important is that text gets smaller!). To explain: When viewing at say 640x480 on a 10 inch wide (not the diagonal measurement) monitor, a 100 pixel long line will be 1.5625 inches long. Change the resolution to 1024x768 and that same line becomes only 0.9765625 inches long on the same 10" monitor. So, consider text... on a 1024 wide screen, letters will be physically smaller than on a 640 wide screen. To get the letters back to the same size physically so the eye can read them easier, you then have to have a physically larger display, say from the 10" wide to a 16" wide.

The same amount of information (resolution) can be displayed on any size monitor, but the physical size of the display is what makes the difference in the readability of the information (especially text).

VDV has a problem in that the program is trying to display too much information in a single windowful. Personally, I think it could do with less "white space" around the components so that it does not require so many pixels in either direction, but I am not sure if enough could be eliminated to let the window fit on the next smaller "standard" resolution display; I think it could without losing functionallity, but that is something the VDV team would have to change as we, the users, cannot affect the window size in that way.

I hope you can find how to alter the resolution of your display and that fixes your problem, but I have no idea how this all works on a MAC.
