Unfortunately, there is no "ignore headlights reflecting off of stuff" setting. However there are various things you can try that can help eliminate false alerts.

You can set a location in which to detect motion to eliminate other areas. You can only set 1 area for each rule, but the shape of the area can be quite convoluted. And you can create more than one rule and have each detect motion in different areas where each of them does not include the area where the lights reflect. (Of course, you'd have to park your car pretty much in the exact same place so you don't have to keep redefining the rules!)

You can set an area and make the program only detect motion only if the very bottom of the object is in the area or if the center of the object is in the area.

You can set the program to only detect an object if it is crossing a line (as opposed to being in an area). Again, you could set more than one rule to detect motion crossing a line on one side of your car and another rule detecting motion on the other side and have no rule detecting motion at the place where the headlights usually reflect.

You can also set the program to detect motion only if the moving object is greator than a certain height. The problem here is that large objects far away appear shorter than small objects close up. A 747 jetliner in the sky will be smaller than a mosquito dancing on the camera lens.

There is lots of good information in the On-Line Reference Guide accessible from this page:

Hi ghochreiter,

I'd have to understand your scene a little bit better to give any definitive device, though I can say the free version has all the features of the basic (aside from camera count and resolution) so upgrading won't give you a magic button to hit. Do you have a light on in your driveway at night? That would likely minimize the drastic change caused by sudden reflections against your car.
