All I can say is that I still feel that VDV is the best software in its class on the market today, but 18 months from now without updates that would likely no longer be the case. I'd certainly like to see it remain the best.
Hi,
Thank's for a quick answer.
I have now been using VitaminD about 3 years with professional outdoor cameras. If I measure VDV against other camera monitoring SW, using false alarms as the parameter, my view is that there is no difference compared to any other SW, which provides entry/exit or border detection functionality. If the comparision is done indoors in stable environment with VGA cameras, well yes, there can be a difference in theory.
Anyway, it is up to you to decide the customer segment you are looking for. For sure, cameras have been evolving (lens, angle, capacity, microphone usage, triggers, leds, pa) during the last 3 years or so and I have not seen any improvement in VDV.
It is true that GUI is still the easiest to use. I'll bet, I'm not the only one here to say that preventing false alarms is the key added value for VDV and unfortunately you start to loose the momentum.
