sending email alert to more than one address

by chrisrose » Sun Nov 06, 2011 4:31 pm

Has anyone successfully sent an email alert to two or more address through the "If Seen" panel (or any other method or panel) with vitamin D?

On that panel, which appears to the right side of the rule editor, you can modify the email settings and indicate the recipient. Then you can run a test to verify that the email was at least sent out from your machine via Vitamin D.

I've tried entering 2 addresses separated by a ',' and an ';'. Both methods test/send OK, but I don't get two separate emails on the other end. I only see one email addressed ("To: ") both addresses. For example I see this in the "To: " line: [email protected]; [email protected] on the receiver end.

Maybe there's a clue in the header somewhere...

I've also tried to send email to 2 addresses without success (separated by a semi-colon, no space).
Anyone had success with this?
Regards...

Booze,

To send to multiple addresses separate them with a comma rather than semi-colon.

Chris,

Sorry I missed this before. If you're still having trouble let me know and we can trouble shoot.

Nice, it works, thanks Ryan!

VD is somewhat "simple" (and it took some work getting it to start when I needed it and to store data where I wanted it) but it's performing beautifully so far, has tons of logs in case something goes wrong, and it's very light! Well done! It detects the cat as a "people" but there's not much we can do about that, VD doesn't know the distance to what it sees (besides, this is with the default "all people" rule; the rules I created that save/email all have restrictions, so the cat doesn't trigger them). Still testing it; still have to test starting it on logoff; still have to pop by the suggestion forum for my 2 cents...

Best Regards,

Duh, just noticed it is explained in the online help that we must use comma to send to multiple addresses.
My apologies for asking on Forum.
Best Regards,
