FTP Setup

by gbell007 » Wed Sep 14, 2011 5:35 pm

Hello all,

I need some help for FTP setup.

I have bought a Linksys/Cisco E4200 wireless router and plug a HD into the USB on the back .
I want to use a files/space into that new hard drive to save my camera video.

1-
I have activate the FTP server option in my Cisco router, port FTP 21 is ok , also have specify the partition files on the HD pluged, that I want my camera/VitaminD to download to.
Name of the server is : Shell
Name of the file on HD is : Camera1

2-
when I use Firefox and type : ftp://shell , name of the file Camera1 , show-up in the the screen , everything looks OK.

3-
Problem now is when I try to complete my Setup FTP option with VitaminD... nothing works.

Host : ftp://shell ... when I click "TEST", FTP server not found... message...

Anyone had any success with this part of the software ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

gbell008,

Can you include a screenshot of your FTP configuration dialog in Vitamin D Video? From what you're saying below, you've told Vitamin D Video that the host is "ftp://shell". You should just put "shell". Vitamin D Video already knows that it is using FTP.

Very easy...

I feel shy now... you are right with your answer !

just put "shell" into the Host box and everything work well.

Thanks !
