Local Video Files App & Server Support

by blipton » Wed Jun 29, 2011 12:17 am

Two suggestions

1) Have an offline mac or pc app available, that can analyze huge local video files. I have digital mpeg-4 (simple profile) files that have hours of footage that need searching through. Would be nice if the vitamin d app could work off on non-live, local files.

2) This one may seem weird, but it would be nice to run the vitamin d application on a remote pc on the cloud. Having my behemoth computer running 24-7 to run this single application seems like a waste. It would be nice to see a server service that can do this monitoring remotely.

Hi blipton,

Thanks for the suggestions. With regard to the first, there has been a bit of discussion on that topic here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=509 as well as the suggested, though certainly not convenient workaround of setting up the local files as a stream and configuring them in VDV as if they were a camera.
