Allow scripts or commands to be sent to app

I'd like you to Allow scripts or commands to be sent to app.

I want to use mac automator or applescript to turn Vitamin D on / off.

Do you have an AppleScript scriptSuite for Vitamin D

So I can do something like this:

AppleScript:
tell application "openvitamind"
play
end tell

-- openvitamind is an automator program i made to start it but want something more elegant as there are issues I'm having

AppleScript:
if application "Vitamin D Video" is running then
tell application "Vitamin D Video" to quit
end if

Issue: If I quit the application while the video is running, the video still keeps recording.

I need to send start and stop commands to the application.

Note: I'm not trying to run a script after an event has been detected.

I also think this feature has a lot of potential. Imagine being able to turn cameras on and off based on parameters other than set schedules.

I'm thinking of the ability to run scripts based on bluetooth connectivity, specifically. Once your phone is in bluetooth range, your computer runs a script that turns the cameras off for you. Same could apply for activating them.

I tried simply quitting Vitamin D using a script, but the background processes still run.
