Zoom In feature

by Joe » Tue Sep 21, 2010 12:00 pm

Another feature that might be nice is the capability to zoom in and magnify a selected area of the frame either like a magnifying glass or by scrolling in and out google earth / maps style.

I think it might be useful even if it was only available in the search view for reviewing saved files.

Thanks.
Joe.

Thanks Joe,

Are you using a megapixel camera and want a bigger view window than the current VGA display, or are you specifically asking to zoom on what is already displayed? Quick tip for the latter on OSX machines, you can hold down ctrl+mouse scroll wheel to zoom in on anything.

No, I am happy with the current size of the live camera view window and of the display window in the search pane.

What I'm interested in is trying to quickly and easily magnify one spot in there like a license plate in a recorded clip (paused) that I am reviewing in order to try and make out more detail.

What I would like is a button in the search pane that I could click on that would open a smaller window (within the search pane) that would display everything near my mouse pointer (wherever I move it) only magnified and could increase or decrease the magnification by scrolling the mouse wheel.

I would like pretty much exactly what the Windows XP MAGNIFY tool does, except without the digging around for it in the Windows menus every time I want to use it.

Hope that is a bit more precise (and doesn't make me sound too lazy).

Oh yeah, I tried the CTRL mouse wheel scroll to magnify and it didn't work for me in VDV, although it did work on a few web pages I tried.

Thanks.

Joe
