I am having trouble finding any information on this. If you are using "rtsp://<ip>:554/user=admin&password=mypassword&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream" elsewhere, in VDV did you fill in the username and password fields in the setup, or are you relying on them being in the stream path? I would suggest filling them out in the setup, and only using a stream path of "channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream". The ?real_stream is interesting, there are likely other values you can use, or try without that field alltogether (simply "channel=1&stream=0.sdp"). Where did you find this stream path? Do you have a manual?

I`m try any combination. (no lo:pass in VDV) and rtsp://<ip>:554/user=admin&password=mypassword&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream
without channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream to, but it is identification of one of 4 channel and their stream. Full link, as i say, work in QT and VLC without problem.
maybe VDV force identification like FTP - rtsp://log:[email protected] and i have rtsp:// @192.168.1.100:544/user=admin&password=mypassword&channel=1&stream=0.sdp?real_stream? i have manual but there is no description of the issue. Only the basic setting like here http://www.dnt-cctv.com/UploadFile/Soft ... tsetup.pdf (its analogue of my DVR).

When selecting rtsp and filling out the username and password I'm guessing , neither a stream path of "/?channel=1&stream=0.sdp&real_stream" nor a stream path of "/?channel=1&stream=0.sdp&real_stream&tcp" nor "/real_stream?channel=1&stream=0.sdp" work?
