Boundary setting

by Alfred » Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:57 am

Hi. I set up a boundary across my driveway and set it to detect both ways. When I access the search videos I can only see cars coming up the drive not leaving. This is only the free program at the present.I have rechecked my settings and I have both arrows on the border.Any Ideas?. Thanks. Alfred.

I use the rule that monitors ANYTHING INSIDE MY CUSTOM REGION to monitor my driveway and it works very well.
The custom area is nice because it lets you make it pretty much any shape so as to cover whatever part of the driveway you want as well as omit the road so it doesnt activate whenever a car drives by.
Good luck.
Joe.

One thing to note is that for boundary crossing it uses the center of the object as a trigger, so if you've drawn your line across your driveway but the center of the object tends to be higher than that it won't be caught. Details on the various rule options can be found in the reference guide on this page: http://vitamindvideo.com/support/ref_guide_rules.html

Thanks Joe. This is what I have done and works perfectly, as you said.

Thanks Ryan. I now understand why I was not getting a trigger.

Alfred
