I have done so much looking around and testing...This software on the Mac is simply the easiest, most stable software yet. But it has its limitations. I elected to go with ZoneMinder on Ubuntu simply for its stable as heck, free and feature rich...too hard to setup though, but I learned it. Here is my list.
date/time stamp and text on screen (to say camera1, driveway, etc.)
PTZ control
Movement tracking with PZT
Patrolling (Foscam has in built in, however cannot set margins) and margin setup for control
HUGE Audio capture as well as audio trigger (illegal if concealed. Foscam has 2-way capability)
Kinda huge for me - Remote usb camera client to work with vitamin d (like webcamzxp) so you can get Vitamin D to control and use another system with only a USB cam.
Ability to mark areas that you don't want monitored (many false from cars in one area)
Linking of cams (one triggers, they all record, so if back gets motion detection, you can be assured you are also recording you side and front at the same time)
Love this software, so easy and stable on the Mac, but lacks features.
