Lotus Notes/BlackBerry attachment issues.

by Vitsol » Fri Nov 19, 2010 5:31 pm

Hello,

I've been evaluating Vitamin D (free version) for a while now. My plan eventually is to get multiple cameras and monitor my server rooms in my office. Everything works flawlessley except when the e-mail comes into my Lotus Notes client, the picture doesn't show up as an attachment. However, the picture IS an attachment. In other words, the .jpg file is attached to the e-mail but the Lotus Notes client doesn't have the "paper clip" that indicates there's an attachment.

OK, so that's not bad. What is bad is I also use the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The BES doesn't recognize the file in my Inbox as having an attachment because Lotus Notes doesn't. So, when the e-mail shows up on my BlackBerry, it doesn't contain the picture.

I've tried sending via different SMTP servers (gmail, comcast, etc). I also tried setting up a dedicated POP3 Lotus Notes account but neither worked. The only thing that does work is if I send the e-mail alerts to my personal Comcast or Gmail account (my work-a-round for now).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Vitsol,

If you configure your blackberry to get your comcast or gmail accounts do the images show up on the device? It is possible that your BES administrator has blocked certain types of image attachments or that it is configured to strip out parts of standard multipart/mixed messages.
