Moving from Windows to Mac

by robert@tsgus.com » Tue Nov 10, 2020 3:01 pm

How can I move all of the recorded video, camera configurations, and other settings when I transition my Sighthound installation from Windows to a Mac?

You could try moving the data files: https://support.sighthound.com/kb/artic ... tore-data/

e.g, take everything out of /Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Sighthound Video/ and stick it in C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Sighthound Video\ (edit: I think I got those reversed for your use case, but you get the idea).

I doubt this will work, I'm not looking at whats in those directories right now, but if it's just plain text XML files or something, you might have a chance.

Hi,

When moving Sighthound to a different machine, you can only transfer the camdb file and the rules folder located in the Sighthound Video data directory no matter the operating system. Clips can't be transferred if you want o keep them; you'll need to make a backup.

Take care,
