What happened to release notes?

by JPElectron » Tue Sep 08, 2020 10:48 am

My customer needs to see that I'm not fibbing them. That their version 3.0.3 is really from 2015.

There used to be a release notes document at https://www.sighthound.com/app-help/release-notes

...it's still linked in the current version 6.1.1

Could you all fire your web 2.0 nonsense developer and put that back that simple static HTML page please?

Release notes are important for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is to encourage previous customers to upgrade see all the new features they will benefit from.

They seem to be posting them in the news section now.

Couldn't agree more with JPElectron... The prior release notes should be available as an archive and ideally as new releases (and apparently release note details posted on "news") would also be available in a release notes archive.

Not sure why someone thought nobody need the prior release notes. Would it be possible to get these posted some place in the next week or so?

I went to fire our Web 2.0 Nonsense Developer but it turns out that was me. I decided to stay on. :-)

The release notes are here:

https://support.sighthound.com/kb/artic ... ase-notes/

When we built our new website last year, we missed a page redirect from

https://www.sighthound.com/app-help/release-notes

to the new url above. I'll get that put in today.

In the meantime release notes will always be at

https://support.sighthound.com/kb/artic ... ase-notes/

and we are considering adding another mechanism as well.

Best,
