CPU and GPU usage

I'm using Trial Edition 6.0.8 Build 17542 and I am not seeing my GPU's being utilized at all. With 10 8MP Hikvision's and 4 2MP Dahua's all using H.264, VBR, 15FPS my CPU is pegged at 100% and task manager shows no GPU activity.

I have manually downgraded the Intel Graphics Driver so it worked with Blue Iris. Is that causing an issue for Sighthound?

I'm running on:
Dell OptiPlex 7050 MT
Intel Quad Core i7-7700 3.6GHz
16GB RAM
256GB SSD
Windows 10
12TB Disk

The 10 8MP cameras are running using H.264 2840x2160 VBR 15FPS
and 4 1080P's are running H.264 1920*1080 VBR 15FPS

I really don't want to reduce resolution or FPS. I was hoping GPU usage would help, but can't see that working.

You might see a small performance improvement by making sure to quit the application. It will run in the background and still be processing, but give some relief to the CPU from not updating the screen.

Thanks, and yes I was watching cpu without running the GUI.

As for the GPU usage, I submitted a ticket to support and they said GPU is only used when objects are detected, and from my logs they can see the GPU's are initialized but I never see them actually being used.

So, I'll have to give up looking to use Sighthound until CPU usage can be lowered, and continue to spend a lot more time configuring Blue Iris to not give false notifications. Was really hoping Sighthound would work for me.

FWIW, SH v5 uses significantly less CPU, I'd guess about 50% less. My Mac Mini had plenty of CPU head room with v5, and now hits about 80% with v6.

I was running 80% on ver5 with 9 cameras on a iMac i5, ver 6 has maxed out the cpu, and sill getting about the same amount of false alerts, so I don't see a lot of improvement in that area at all. So no adding more cameras unless I want to pay for a new computer system.
