Sighthound will not start after force quit on Mac

My sighthound has been working great but I need to turn off my Mac in a hurry and it was taking too long for a normal quit so I did a force quit. Now when I start the program it starts and says wait a moment and stays like that with the spinning rainbow ball. Left it overnight and still in same status. Help please.
