Bad Pics

by N7AS » Fri May 18, 2018 10:33 pm

I use Sighthound to send emails of motion detected. This part works ok.
BUT the pics are really bad. They look like watching an old 3-D movie without the glasses. Nothing but a scrambled mess of colors. I can't make out any details. This is mostly happening during the day. At night when the IR turns on, it looks ok. My camera webpage shows a clear picture all the time. So, this is a problem with Sighthound.

Hello,

We have replied to this in the email thread that you sent earlier. But just to reiterate everything here:

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with viewing videos.

Looking at your logs, it seems you are not forcing TCP. If TCP is not enabled then it's defaulted to UDP which is a lot less stable. You can enable TCP by editing your camera and clicking next until you see "Force TCP" towards the end.

Also, since you have a Starter Edition License, the max resolution that you will be able to have within Sighthound is 640 X 480. It might be good to have your camera produce those same numbers. You can find more details about your specific license at the link below:

https://www.sighthound.com/support/what ... n-editions

Finally, it would be a good idea to check to see if your cameras firmware is up to date as well as power cycling your camera.

Please give those suggestions a try and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, thank you!

We can continue this discussion in the email thread that you started. We will be standing by for your reply, thank you!

Regards,
-Kevin
