Q-See cameras?

by switz » Thu Apr 19, 2018 11:58 am

I like Sighthound so much on my business setup (17 HD cameras) that I am considering using it for my home system. I currently have a Q-see 4k system that uses all Q-See IP cameras. I looked in the Sighthound camera section and didn't see any Q-See cameras listed.

I don't like Q-See's interface and their software is crap. I might be willing to dump their DVR in favor of a computer and Sighthound. So, do Q-See IP cameras work?

Thanks!

Hi Switz,

Sighthound Video supports cameras that follow IP protocols. Sighthound Video does require access to individual stream urls for each camera you want to connect. Currently, we recommend cameras that support H.264 compression. We are eventually going to support H.265. However, we don't have a specified timeline of when this will be implemented. Although Q-See cameras may not be in our specified list, you can connect your camera manually to Sighthound. The link below describes how to do that.

If you have trouble connecting these cameras to Sighthound Video, you can send us a bug report, and we will be glad to further assist you in connecting your cameras.

Regards,

Kenneth
