I have been a long time user of Sighthound. As a matter of fact, I was a long time user of Vitamin D before sighthound bought it. At the moment I am using Pro Edition 2.5.1 build 15102. I am thinking about upgrading to the latest version. I had some questions before I do.
1. Will I be able to install over my existing version and not have to reload all my cameras?
2. What is the cost to upgrade to the latest version?
3. What would be the benefit of upgrading? I do not need the web access.
4. What would the performance increase be? (computer specs and cameras below)
5. Is it now possible to export longer video clips than in my version?
6. Is a permanent internet connection required?

i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz
16GB ram
Intel HD Graphics 2000 (onboard) 64mb
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250G main drive
WDC WD20PURX-64P6ZY0 2 TB - SATA 6Gb/s Storage Drive
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
This computer is dedicated to Sighthound Video
12 Hikvision IP cameras (DS-2CD2232-I5 and DSD-2CD2035-I)

Thank you for being a long time customer of Sighthound! I will answer your questions inline below:
1. Will I be able to install over my existing version and not have to reload all my cameras?
You will not lose any of your current Sighthound configurations including rules, cameras and older videos.
2. What is the cost to upgrade to the latest version?
Subscriptions must run concurrently, renewing on the anniversary of the date of your purchase. If you do not renew your Subscription on time and subsequently choose to do so, you will have to pay back to the time your last paid Subscription expired.
The cost of a one year Subscription is $12 for Basic and $50 for Pro.
3. What would be the benefit of upgrading? I do not need the web access.
You can find all of the new features and bug fixes that have been added over the years at the link below:

4. What would the performance increase be? (computer specs and cameras below)
There have been a lot of improvements from the version that you have been running including but not limited to the following:
- Improved computer vision algorithms
- Significantly improved CPU performance when recording H264 streams.
- Much faster connections for live streams
All of these features can be found at the link I gave you in the last response.
5. Is it now possible to export longer video clips than in my version?
You will be able to export the full length of the motion that was detected from the video. There is no max or min on how long the videos are support to be.
6. Is a permanent internet connection required?
Sighthound does require an internet connection for software download, updates, and activation.
