What is it about the rain that is triggering the alerts? Water running down the lens/window/etc. or is it the rain itself being detected or splashing on the ground, etc.? I have several cameras that are indoor cameras, mounted on a windowsill to view the outdoors and I have similar problems
One I was able to put a roll of putty to be a "roof" on the window glass to direct rivulets of water away from running down the glass directly in front of the lens of the camera. Works "most" of the time, except if the rain is being blown directly into the window. Also, the putty I am using falls off sometimes and I have to replace it. Might be something better that will stick to the glass better than the putty I am using, but I didn't want to put something on the glass that I could not get off someday. A "visor" embedded in the putty could extend the "roof" farther out to shield the glass from some blown rain, but I just haven't tried that yet.
On some of my cameras, I have to make seasonal adjustments to the rules to account for changes in the sun angle and how the wind blows tree shadows around, generating false alarms. At various times, I use "Crossing a line" or "In an area" or "On an area" rules to overcome some of these problems... I have not found ONE rule method that works for all seasons for some of the cameras.
