Schedule to Arm Cameras

by tallrob » Tue Nov 14, 2017 8:56 am

I'd like to have a way to arm all cameras at a particular time in case someone forgets to arm them when they leave the premises (this seems to happen more on Fridays, and I'll come in on Monday and find out the cameras have been off all weekend - when I need them most). Currently it seems the schedules only apply to each particular rule. So I thought I could made a new rule (btw how does one simply "duplicate" a rule? I see edit and new, but no duplicate), but scheduled rules cannot be armed/disarmed manually with the green and red buttons, menu commands or the mobile app. Therefore I would still need another rule for manual arm/disarm outside the scheduled times, and I would then be duplicating the saved clip storage space when motion triggered both rules. In a perfect world with no false triggers, that wouldn't be a problem, but of course there are always false triggers.

So I would like a way to schedule a simple "Arm Cameras" time as a safeguard. Is that somehow possible? And if the solution isn't built-in, could you please add it to a near future release?

Thanks!
Rob

Bump...

I'm trying to be patient. But I guess It's my duty to point out that despite the promise of quick replies to tech support questions, the last two questions I posted haven't received a response in two weeks' time. FYI.

Hello Rob,

Sorry for the delay in response here.

Unfortunately, there isn't any way to duplicate a rule, you will have to create new ones for each case. Also, there isn't any mechanism to arm the cameras for a specific time. This is definitely something we can consider adding as a feature request. Although, there really isn't any set time on when it will be added.

Just to note, you are able to connect to Sighthound through remote access and check to see if your cameras are on/off. If they are off, you can turn them on remotely. This is really the only option for now.

I will forward this inquiry to engineering to discuss adding this feature. You can always check https://www.sighthound.com/support/release-notes to see any new features that have been added.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, thank you!

Regards,

Kevin
