5.1 bug?
When I'm looking back over my motion detected footage, I use the down arrow to move to the next piece of footage. Each time, they'll play automatically so long as I played the one before. This still works, however not on 16x. I have to manually hit 'play' each time.

The transition to the next clip during playback shouldn't be dependent on the speed. I've just tried, and the continuos playback seems to work fine regardless of the speed, so I wonder if something else is going on.
Feel free to open a ticket via Help -> Report a problem, so we could check if there are any obvious errors.

It certainly is a problem with just 16x. All other speeds work fine. However, it seems that the issue isn't just just transitioning to the next clips, some clips don't even play at all at 16x, I just see a black. Then when I switch back to 4x, some clips won't play. If I switch to a different day and switch back that fixes the issue. Will submit a ticket.
