Lorex LNE3142 1080P camera

by schneideris » Fri Oct 13, 2017 6:30 pm

I have tried to get the system to see my Lorex LNE3142R-C dome camera with no luck so far. Has anyone out there had any luck with these camera's under SightHound and if so what are the configuration steps and parameters that you used?

ping ... I am trying to evaluate SightHound but time is running out. I do home someone is able to help even if saying that the camera's are simply not supported.

Hello, Peter,

We do not have an experience with this particular camera.

That being said, the camera is modern enough, so it should support ONVIF, which is the preferred way to configure it.

Should that fail, Google tells me this would be the URI to use (according to https://help.lorextechnology.com/link/p ... ur-DVR-NVR):

rtsp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@IPADDRESS:PORT ... pe=SUBTYPE

So, in other words:
- Add camera
- Camera Type: Network/IP camera, Manufacturer: other
- Set up ... with the camera that is already working
- If the camera supports ONVIF, and you've enabled it on the camera, it should appear in the list, under "My camera is in the list below...", which would be the preferred way to proceed
- If it doesn't appear there, choose "Manually specify...", and use the following settings:

Camera type: Other IP camera
Protocol: rtsp
IP address: [fill up the IP]
Port: leave empty or use 554
Stream path: cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
fill the username and password

Hopefully this will work.

Best,
- Alex

It WORKED!!!

The issue in the end was the default password of the camera. Lorex documents it as "000000", but it is actually "admin".

I set it up as "Other" for manufacturer with the type set to "Network (IP) camera". Then the camera showed in the scanned list so I picked it. Picked the 1080p profile and defaulted everything else.

Now to figure out the logistics of what I want to setup. Computer to use and locations of the cameras on the new house. :D

Thanks @sv_alex.
-Peter
