Does V5.0 work with a 32 bit system?

by harmer007 » Sat Jul 08, 2017 10:47 pm

When I try to upgrade to it says fail and my computer needs to be restarted. When I try it again, it says the same thing. I went back to the previous version and everything thing it fine. I have a 32 bit system.

Thanks for the help.

Hi harmer007,

Starting with 5.0 Sighthound Video does require a 64 bit OS installation. If you're running Windows 10 it is possible to switch your OS from a 32 bit install to a 64 bit install, though as this requires a full system wipe it is particularly cumbersome if you are using the machine for something other than Sighthound Video and have additional data that would need to be backed up and restored.

Same issue here. Somewhat disappointing. Running Windows 7, 32-bit. Although this isn't a dedicated PC for video, I can see how there are many users out there with older hardware and dedicating it to Sighthound. As an IT consultant, this is the future of software, however, most developers aren't there yet.

Ryan, think about making this version 32-bit compliant, or at least backward compatible. Thanx.
