Service Does Not Start Automatically When Using NAS Drives

by Rocinante » Sat May 20, 2017 2:18 pm

When using a network drive (NAS) for storage, the Sighthound service does not start automatically after restarting my computer. I have to start the program manually and wait for all cameras to connect. I see that automatic start is turned off for some reason, but is there any other work around? What if I have a power outage during the day and my computer restarts?

I tried to have the Sighthound service login to my user account, but that did not work.

Hello Rocinante,

I'm afraid there isn't an officially supported workaround for this issue. In order for Sighthound to autostart and run as a service the video location must be on a local drive.

You can have Sighthound start at login by putting the Sighthound Video icon into the Startup folder, as the network drives should be available at login as well.
