Best practice rtsp

I figure the readers of this forum know a thing or two about rtsp streams. Can someone please elaborate on the best practice of the use of rtsp-streams to multiple destinations (preformance/bandwith/networkload). Say I use SHV to record events that occur, mostly when im not at home, but if i would like a display inside my front door that always displays the image from the camera outside. a thing that would be easy to set up is some kind of device the just displays the rtsp-feed directly from the camera. Does this question make sense?

I would think the best way to do this is to purchase a inexpensive android table. Install a app like IpCam Viewer basic (free). Connect it to the camera video stream and there you go. Instant camera viewer.
