Do we have a listing for supported cameras with audio?

I'm actually having trouble finding cameras that have AAC audio.....most of them use older protocols.

Anything that lists AAC in it's specs should work, if not we'd consider it a bug and work to fix it. I'm afraid that with the thousands of cameras in the world it's not possible for us to maintain a complete list. We'd like to expand audio support in the future. If you have particular codec requests certainly let us know, feedback is always helpful and welcome.

The vast majority of the ones I'm finding with audio don't do AAC.

In searching online, I'm seeing lots of G.711, G.722, G.726, and 3GPP.

There are many lists that we can get from the search engine but How can we find whether it works or not with the audio format too

Hi larajohnson,

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any single list of IP cameras that support AAC out there. Some manufacturers disclose this information on their websites, and unfortunately other don't. A google search for "IP cameras aac audio" brings up quite a few. This search also yields results on Amazon and other similar marketplaces.

Regards,

-Devin

All my Amcrest cameras that came with audio work with Sighthound and record audio just fine. Put that on your list!

I picked up one of these cheap Wansview cameras for indoor use and was surprised to find it works with sound!
