iOS 10.3 issue

by badgerarc » Fri Mar 17, 2017 7:21 pm

Hi, I was running iOS 10.2.1 on my iPhone 7 plus and all was working well, and I could view clips on my iPhone no problem. I updated my iPhone to 10.3 public beta 7, and since then clips will not play back. Alerts work fine, but the clips will not play. Is there an update in the works for iOS 10.3, which is an imminent release.

Hello badgerarc,

I'm sorry to hear you're seeing this problem in the beta. We have a device on the same beta and are not seeing the same behavior, so we'd like to gather some more info:

In your device's Settings, scroll down to the list of installed apps to find and open Sighthound.

That should show a section "SIGHTHOUND SETTINGS" and "DIAGNOSTICS". The diagnostics sections should have a switch for "Enabled" and a text field "Mode".

Toggle the switch for Enabled to show green, and in the Mode section enter "collect" (without the quotes).

Then return to the Sighthound app, reproduce the problem, and immediately go to the app's Settings and use the "Email Support" function. That should compose an email to [email protected] that includes a base 64 encoding of recent internal logging. Add "for Dan E" to the email subject line, and send that email.

Go back to the device's settings and clear out the "collect" term and turn off the Enabled switch for the Sighthound app. This is a diagnostic mode only - so may not be stable when enabled.

Regards,

-Devin

Sorry, I missed this reply. It seemed to work itself out after a wee while, but wasn't always consistently working. Ive now updated to 10.3.2 public beta 1 and can't seem to log into the iOS app at all. I get the error code - 1005 error connecting to server. My server is up and running and I can log into it fine, just not connect to it via the iOS app at present.

Something unknown caused my server to disable and remove the settings for remote access. Once reinstated it all works again.
