Do I post here or via app for technical support?

by tikilab » Mon Feb 20, 2017 4:12 am

I sent in two issues via "Report a problem" in the app about not being able to add a camera and not being able to connect outside my local network. Am I also supposed to post here to get technical support?

Hi Tikilab,

If you have a current support contract our technical support team will get back to you within 1 business day. If you e-mailed them over the weekend you'll hear back today.

If you have the free version or are out of a support contract you can post here, but please provide more information so the community or Sighthound staff can help you.

Regards,

Stephen Neish

Got it, thanks. I do have a support contract so I will wait for an email (on Tuesday I assume, as it's a holiday today). You might want to explain that in the "Report a problem" dialog… (contract=you'll get an email reply/no contract=go to the forums).

If someone without a support contract submits a bug report or crash report it won't just fall into the void - we see everything and will respond as appropriate for the situation, even if that is to point to forums. We certainly don't want to discourage anyone from submitting a crash report as we'd like to know about these as soon as possible so that we can address them, we'd hate to miss something just because it happened on the unique hardware/software combination a free or expired support user was running.

You should have an email from our support team that was sent 3 hours ago, perhaps it wound up in a spam folder? However, it does appear that 2 of the 3 reports you submitted were improperly flagged as duplicates. I will respond to one of those now and the other will require one of our engineers to take a look.
