Support for configurable URL for e.g. for Axis cameras

by stgross » Sun Feb 12, 2017 5:28 pm

Axis cameras support different modes like overview (default for base URL),
panorama, quad view (for dome camera types), view1..n

Currently it is not possible to configure URLs, but only ip addresses of cameras.

It would be very handy, if one could configure the URL path after IP and port.
That would allow to select a specific view for Axis cameras.

Should be a very easy thing to implement.

Thanx
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

If there is a particular URL you would like to connect to you can absolutely do this today. Simply select the manual configuration option and you can enter any URL you'd like.

I will also note that most Axis cameras support ONVIF, though you need to explicitly enable this on the camera and create a user account for this. Once ONVIF is enabled the camera will be auto-detected (robust to IP address changes) and will also offer a dropdown list of all configured streams for you to select rather than entering a URL yourself.
