via POE cameras

I guess Sighthound does not work with a POE NVR so is the correct method for connecting multiple POE cameras to the Mac through a POE switch?

Hello This_on_Linux_NVR,

Unfortunately camera and network hardware varies so much that there isn't a "correct answer" that will work for most POE camera/nvr setups. If you could provide us with the manufacturer and model numbers of the cameras and NVR I'll be happy to investigate further.

Regards,

-Devin

I have a better idea. Can you provide a link that explains how 8 cameras are connected to an Apple to allow Sighthound software to perform?

Hello This_on_Linux_NVR,

We do not have a support article specifically for how to get POE cameras connected to a network. I'll be happy to look up your specific cameras if you can provide us with the manufacturer and model number. Otherwise, I can say that the goal is to get the cameras on your network, then connect it to Sighthound through the usual methods (see https://www.sighthound.com/support/sett ... era-manual). In general, POE cameras either need a POE switch/injector or you can use a regular ethernet connection if the cameras came with a separate power cable.

Regards,

-Devin
