I'm trying to determine whether or not I can set up one of my older macs to be a dedicated security camera host using logitech 700e and 700n cameras (total of 4). As some of you know, logitech stopped support of the mac version of their software, and upgrades to OS X caused loss of some of the core functions. I've had the cameras since 2012 and they are still functioning fine so no need to replace a system that has been reliable.
The two machines I have to work with are 1. Macbook pro (17" monitor) 2.33 ghz core 2 duo, 2 gb RAM, 667 mhm DDR2 SDRAM, and 2. Mac mini 1.83 ghz core 2 duo, 1 gb RAM, 667 mhm DDR SDRAM. Since neither of these machines are being used for anything at the moment I am hoping I can find a way to run sighthound on them. Since my knowledge of the options, limitations, etc. relating to this idea are limited, I would appreciate input and advice from those of you with knowledge and first hand experience.
Thanks.
