H.264 vs mjpeg

by mgrob » Sun Jul 24, 2016 3:43 pm

I have a TRENDnet TV-IP311PI camera which offers two video streams: a "main stream" and a "sub stream".

The mainstream can only be configured to H.264.

The substream can be H.264 or MJPEG -> however the substream wont support HD or the full capability of the camera, only the main stream will.

Can SH use H.264 or does it require MJPEG? Is there a doc somewhere that explains what is required? (couldn't find)

thanks

Hello mgrob,

Sighthound Video will accept both H264 and MJPEG, as well as most other types you'll find with IP cameras. If you are having troubles with your streams in Sighthound please send us a bug report with a description of the behavior you're seeing. You can send a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem.

Regards,

-Devin
