Better time choices in rules

by grege » Sat Jul 16, 2016 9:35 pm

It would be extremely helpful if when setting up a rule you could choose it to start and stop based on sunrise and sunset.

I like having 2 rules for each camera. One for day and one for night. During the day I have Sighthound email me if there is motion. At night I don't do this because of bugs flying around in the IR light causing false readings. With the amount of light changing from summer to winter it would be nice if you could have your zip code in your settings and then find sunrise and sunset and use that with a + or - amount of time. I have some smart switches and the device I use for that can do it.

Thanks

Greg

Scheduling cameras isn't an option? If not, please add ASAP.

Do you mean like you can do by clicking the (blue) text link for each rule in the middle of the panel below the main view window?

Default is "Every Day - 24 hours", but you can have multiple rules, each set to be valid for specific days, or groups of days of the week, with a starting time and ending time.

Granted, it would be nice if this setup section was part of the rule defining process instead of being separate like this, but I think what you are looking for is already a part of SightHound.
