iOS Feature request for remote viewing

by TrajoMarx » Mon Apr 11, 2016 11:24 am

I use a Dynamic updater since I have a dynamic IP. However, the current version of the iOS app only allows IP numbers in the login.
Please consider allowing a URL that points to the IP. Otherwise I have to find out what my IP is after a change.

Thanks.

Hello TrajoMarx,

I'm sorry to hear you're having troubles with the mobile app. The Sighthound mobile app does allow the user of DNS and does not restrict you to only use numbers. If the address isn't working then it either isn't configured correctly or it is being entered incorrectly.

For example, lets say "example.sighthound.com" points to the network Sighthound is running on and the Sighthound Video remote access web server is using port 9090. In this scenario you would enter "example.sighthound.com:9090" as the IP address.

Regards,

-Devin

Can confirm. I use a hostname in the IP field to connect in the mobile app
