Hello Alfred,

You will need to forward a port for the computer running Sighthound Video. If you could provide the manufacturer and model number of your router I'd be happy to give specific directions on how to do this.

I also have a question about port forwarding.

From the iOS app connected to my LAN WiFi - I can access my cameras using my WAN IP:8848
From the iOS app connected to my cellular data - I can not access my cameras using my WAN IP:8848

What am I doing wrong? I'd like to be able to view cameras while home or away. Thanks

Hello Alfred,

Here's a guide to port forwarding on your router: http://support.bell.ca/Internet/Connect ... ection-Hub

You will want to use the internal address (listed in the remote access tab in Sighthound) as a reference when creating the rule. For example, lets say the internal address is 123.123.123.123:8848 and the networks external address is 789.789.789.789. In this case you would use the following for your port forward rule:

Rule Name: Sighthound Video (or anything you'd like)
Protocol: Both
Source Port: 8848
Destination IP or Hostname: 123.123.123.123
Destination Port: 8848

Once you save the rule you should be able to connect from outside the network by using the networks external address (789.789.789.789) with the forwarded port (8848) which would look like 789.789.789.789:8848

If you do not know what your networks external IP address is you can find it at http://www.whatsmyip.org.

Regards,

-Devin
