Changing Resolution Issue

by stevegricer » Mon Jan 11, 2016 7:39 pm

I have a number of Dahua cameras and I'm having trouble getting Sightound to pickup the higher resolutions. The Dahua transmit both a Main Stream and a Sub Stream. The Sub Streams are low resolution (highest is 704x576, which works)but if I "un-enable" the Sub Stream in the camera, Sighthound fails to connect, even when setting the Main Stream on the camera to a supported Sighthound stream such as SXGA. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

Hello Steve,

Most cameras that have a main and sub stream have separate url's for each stream. I'd be happy to investigate this camera if you could provide the model number of this Dahua.

[Posting for reference in case anyone else has a Dahua (or similar) DVR system.]

Change the subtype=1 to subtype=0 to connect to the main stream output. 0 = main stream, 1 = sub stream. My Dahua system functions this way.
