Hello,
I recently started backing up my temp video and saved rule videos to an external USB drive. However when I try to use the search function in Sighthound the spinning "beach ball" just keeps spinning and I have to do a force quit of the application. Has anyone backed up to an external and if so are you having this problem when it the search menu?

Hi Ian,
We do have several users who store their video on an external drive. If the USB drive's read/write speed cannot keep up with amount of video that is constantly being written you may have troubles trying to view clips from the drive. I'd be happy to take a look at your logs for anything unusual if you could submit a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem.

Thanks for the reply, It was an older hard drive from my mac mini that i put in a USB enclosure and was going to be to the drive to store the Sighthound video. But since it is slow I decided to keep the storage to the new internal drive which i just changed to a solid state drive (SSD) and it seems to be working fine now. So Sighthound will always be writing to the SSD and i thought this might not be good as SSDs are supposed to a fxed number of read write cycles. But we'll see how it goes.
