Android app keeps freezing

by sorka » Sun Aug 09, 2015 4:00 pm

I've added to Camera to the trial. The app comes up fine but then freezes if I try to select a specific camera:

But then when I select a camera, this happens and it never recovers. I have to kill the app and restart. This is 100%:

Note, this is with a Galaxy S4 with about 1.5 GB free on the internal storage and 30GB free on the external 64GB sdhc card.

I tried it with a Note 4 as well and it doesn't freeze up forever but it does take about 30 seconds.

Also, this occurs whether running inside the home network or externally on 4g.

At times mine also locks on a video and the only way past it is to turn the mobile off and restart.

Hi dradb,

Have you tried turning off HLS in the settings? If that does not work, please submit a bug report from Sighthound Video by going to Help > Report a Problem.

Have the same problem. Loaded 30 seconds and then got error that stream could not be loaded.

Switched off HLS/H.264 and I got the stream immediately.

Phone is LG G4 with Android 5.1 and server is fresh Core i7/8GB RAM + Windows 7.

What is the problem with HLS/H.264?

(Camera is added using RTSP, 1280x800, H264)

Hi Konstigt,

We made HLS/H264 streaming optional due to the large variety of Android devices that are available. We've found that some Android devices do not support HLS/H264 or have troubles with it. If you experience any issues with HLS/H264 enabled we recommend keeping the option off.

Regards,

-Devin
