Recording

by jamesstock » Tue Aug 04, 2015 10:05 pm

Noticed it'll store video clips every 2 min creating a video file each day. But how come everyday the recording / video creation stopped at around 11:11am and will restart at around 5pm? Is there a setting I need to do to get it record / on alert everyday 24hrs a day? I went onto 'Cameras' button on the top left, then on the bottom middle portion I clicked on the dates where I get to choose 24hrs or certain days of the week or particular time, I doubled checked I set at 24hrs a day everyday. but still the 2min clips ceased at around 11am and restart at 5pm.

Hi jamesstock,

The video files in the Sighthound Video data directory are not meant to be viewed or interacted with as they are the source video files and do not correspond 1:1 to your saved clips. These files are moved around and cut up so they will not accurately reflect the video that is being recorded and saved.

If you go to the Search View in Sighthound Video do you see clips between 11am and 5pm? If not, please submit a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem and we'll be happy to investigate your logs.

Regards,

-Devin

Hi,

I went to search view, it shows all videos that were triggered by the 'conditions' I set (which is great). But now the video clips that get generated by the camera in 2min intervals seems to be 'missing' for about 8 hours from around 12:3x PM to 8:xx PM (and of course the conditions I set were never met during those 'missing hours').

I am using Foscam FI9831P, Ethernet connection (not wireless).

Is your camera being overheated in the sun during the hours it is failing?

Hello jamesstock,

Please submit a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem so we can check your logs for any related errors. In the meantime, here are some general things that may cause this:

* If a user logs out the OS User that is running Sighthound Video
* If sleep mode is enabled
* The camera loses it's connection

Regards,

-Devin
