Rule has stopped firing

by Goose » Tue Jul 21, 2015 6:48 am

I have a rule that fires when someone walks up or down the path towards the house (crossing a line on the path). It has been working for a month or so as it notifies me with an email and a still when it fires. Yesterday it stopped firing (and sending me an email) even though temporary video (not saved by rule) has people walking up and down the path.

There is a green hose currently on the path could that somehow be confusing the crossing point?

Would recreating the rule help?

Cheers,

Goose

Hi Goose,

I'm sorry to hear you've encountered this issue. I have a few questions for you to better understand your situation:

* If you select this camera in the Monitor View does this rule appear to be enabled at the bottom of the page? There should be a checkmark in the box at the right of the rule.

* Are you able to successfully send a test message from the email notification settings? You can reach these settings by editing the rule.

* Do the daily email notifications reach 100+ emails a day? Most email providers have a daily quota which may have been reached if you had unusually high activity in your scenes.

I'd be happy to take a look at your logs to see if emails are being sent if you could submit a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem. Be sure to link to this post so we know it is you.

Regards,

-Devin

Hey Devin, thanks for the reply.

Rule enabled and fires occasionally though not every time and much less than a few days ago. Email is via my own server so it's not being blocked by an ISP.

I did wonder if SH has too much to do given I have setup a NAS to provide temporary storage and have it at 1500GB and 192 hours retention. Is that a possibility?

I'll monitor it over the next few days and if it still isn't right I'll do the logs thing...

Cheers,

Goose
