Yosemite error connecting to the server.

by Richx76 » Mon May 18, 2015 9:14 pm

Does anyone have any idea how to keep Yosemite alive so it doesn't time out sight hound? If I restart my spare iMac the remote client on my phone connects no problem weather on wifi or cellular so I know my firewall is good. I think my iMac is snoozing even though I've turned it to never.
The failure to connect is random in timing. Could be 6 hrs or 24.

Any ideas?

Hi Richx76,

When you return to your computer after not being able to connect does it appear to be in sleep mode? Do other users access this machine while you are away? If the user running Sighthound is logged out the web server will stop running.

I'd be happy to take a look at your logs for anything unusual if you could submit a bug report by going to Help > Report a Problem. Be sure to include a link to this forum post so we know it is you.

Regards,

-Devin

It may be asleep. I'm across the country at the moment. So no remote sight hound. Any way to prevent sleep in Yosemite?

Hi Richx76,

You can set the computer to never sleep in System Preferences > Energy Saver.
